Bay Point 40/40 Shootout
updated June 16, 2010
Yamaha Motors Century Boats Harts Marine and Outdoors 2009 saw the addition of an exciting new event to the Bay Point Invitational, the Inaugural 40/40 Shootout.
A “Tournament Within a Tournament”, the 40/40 features a field of up to 40 boats 40 feet or less in length, fishing for tuna, wahoo and dolphin.

Last year’s fishing conditions were less than ideal and resulted in a smaller than expected haul. Mark Crone aboard A-Loan Again brought in the only tuna and tipped the scales at just over 56 pounds. Wideopen anglers Jeremy Sprenkle and Mark Datelle brought in the first and second place dolphin, while Monty Ferrell brought in the biggest wahoo of the evening on board Just One More.

40/40 participants may attend all Billfish Invitational Tournament events and parties and may depart with the fleet on Thursday evening, or Friday morning. However, the 40/40 has a separate registration, entry fees, optional categories, weigh-in and awards.

Registration forms may be printed and mailed, or you may register online. If you have problems or questions about the registration process contact Steve Arndt at (850) 628-1740 or steve@baypointbillfish.com.
